Call Of Duty 5 : World At War

Bayonet is either a knife or spike at the end of the barrel of a gun that can be used to increase melee range. The bayonet is a different length depending on the weapon and model, with the Mosin-Nagant's appearing to be the longest and Type 99 appearing to be the shortest. However, all bayonets allow the same melee distance in-game. The bayonet provides a longer melee length compared to the knife. Though the M1A1 Carbine and the M1 Garand are the only semi-automatic weapons that use the bayonet, all of the bolt-action rifles (excluding the PTRS-41) can use the bayonet and provide a powerful long-to-mid range gun with close quarter effectiveness.

It is a weapon attachment found in Call of Duty: World at War. In the campaign it will most commonly be found attached to Arisaka rifles dropped by Japanese Banzai Chargers, in which case the weapon is called the "Arisaka Bayonet."
