Call Of Duty 5 : World At War

Knee Deep is one of the new maps available in the firstCall of Duty: World at War map pack It is set in a village in Peleliu with the opposing sides being the Imperial Japanese Army and the Marine Raiders[1] “Knee Deep“ takes place on the island of Peleliu in a once tranquil village turned chaotic Japanese command center. Aiming to retrieve the valuable intel housed in the command post, troops fight through the jungle, wade knee deep in streams and take battle positions in fortified Japanese bunkers to secure this important communication center. Ideal for all combat scenarios and designed for larger team games and objective matches.

Though the map suggests all weapon types, please take into consideration when on hardcore, to watch the bushes near the stream. Many teams have been slaughtered when the other uses rifles and machine guns along with thecamouflage perk. They then proceed to camp for the remainder game.

The main focus of either team is to capture the Japanese bunker near the river. It's where most of the fighting occurs and where many of the campers will be located. Other than the river and the bunker, the rest of the map is usually quiet and barren. If the enemy takes the bunker, try calling artillery on it or try assaulting it from all sides. Overwhelming the enemy with frag grenades work as well. If the player takes it, then lay Bouncing Betties out on the stairs and ladder. There is a good camping spot near the ladder on the roof. Just sprint jump to the area next to the antenna. Leave about four people on the bunker and have the other two be snipers or armed with rifles and provide support in the courtyard or the rice paddies.

Trivia

  • If the player goes underwater in spectate mode in the streams that go through the map, a big splash can be heard and when underwater the character's desire for air can be heard. When exiting, the player will gasp for air even though one may be in spectate mode. Maybe linked to the action of swimming that was dropped before the games release.
  • Knee Deep, along with Nightfire, are the only DLC maps to not be playable on an offline split-screen game inWorld at War.
  • Players with weaker computers dislike this map because all the water causes a large amount of lag.
