Call Of Duty 5 : World At War

Station is a medium-sized multiplayer map available in the first Call of Duty: World at War map pack released in March 2009.

It is set in a train station in Berlin with the opposing sides being the Red Army and the Wehrmacht

At either end there are second-story platforms which offer vantage points over two halves of the map. These are most commonly found with snipers covered by Betties. At each side, running the length of the map, are narrow hallways, with a larger area in the middle. These are effective flanking routes, especially in Domination, however many players can camp in these corridors to counter this. Machine guns, for example the M1919 Browning Machine Gun or MG42 can be used effectively, as they are useful for medium range combat which is common in this map, due to the linearity. However, SMGs can be used to rush or flank and can be equally effective. Suppressed weapons are very useful, as due to the close quarters nature of the map, many players watch the radar constantly for players exposing themselves.

Trivia

  • Artillery Strikes can kill, even though players are predominately underground. Artillery mainly is positioned at the opening in the center of the map.
  • There is a blue sign on the wall near each of the four stair cases which show a woman chasing a cradle while it is rolling down the steps.
  • A majority of the platforms are called Adolf Hitler
  • The mp_subway map was originally to be included on disc. The early map, called Subway, is not related to Station.
